Linköpings fågelklubb is an independent association for anyone interested in birds. Our aim is to inspire and make your interest and knowledge in these fascinating winged creatures grow, with a special focus on the local avifauna in Linköping’s municipality. We offer a varied program of excursions, surveys and trips for our members, and during winter we also take care of a bird feeder in Tinnerö in collaboration with Linköpings Ekopark. These activities take place either on weekdays or weekends, and both newcomers and experts are welcome to join. Our concept is that no one is ever done learning about birds, and we simply help each other to learn more. As a symbol of our values, our members receive the magazine Rödspoven twice per year. There you can read about ongoing projects and surveys, summaries from excursions and trips, as well as news within the local birding community.

We also organize activities for non-members, such as seminars and open excursions in collaboration with Linköpings kommun and Linköpings Naturcentrum. On top of this, we also gather participants to contribute to national surveys in collaboration with Svensk Fågeltaxering. Last, but not least, we occasionally organize events and tailor-made short excursions with other organizations or authorities, such as the university or the city library. These activities take usually place during the weekend and weekday evenings. As a non-member, you also have access to the digital version of our magazine Rödspoven.

Most of our activities are held in Swedish, but some excursions are designed for both English- and Swedish-speaking participants and are marked with a bilingual title under Program. For each of these excursions, we publish bilingual reports on our website and we write a short section in our magazine. For more information about these excursions, you can contact Alessandra alemun1997@gmail.com. Would you like to participate to an excursion that is held in Swedish, but you do not feel confident with the language? No worries, our members are usually open to challenge their own English on the fly: anything to talk about birds!
